
Based in Melbourne Australia, Concordia has been delighting its audiences both at home and abroad since 1978.
We are an orchestra of plucked-string instruments featuring mandolins, mandolas, classical guitars and double bass.
We love playing together and keeping the magic of the mandolin and its music alive for our audiences.

Concert in Corinella
On Sunday 10 March 2024 Concordia Mandolin & Guitar Ensemble performed at the Corinella Community Hall featuring music by Nelson, Faure and Pakenham and solo piano accordian performance by Juliette Maxwell in Piazzolla’s Libertango.

Eclipse in Cowes
on Sunday 17 September 2023 Concordia performed in the Bass Coast area annually. This concert featured soloists Will Hardy (recorder) and Darryl Barron (mandola) performing the new composition by Michelle Nelson, Bishop’s Spell. This and other compositions by resident composer and lead guitarist, Michelle Nelson are on our latest CD, Eclipse.

Peninsula Folk Club
With the President of the Peninsula Folk Club having joined the ranks of Concordia’s first mandolins, we were invited to play on Sunday 4 September 2022 at their club night after their ‘jam’ and ‘blackboard’ performances. A fun night was had by all! Thanks, Evan Webb.

Concert in Cowes
On Sunday 1 May 2022, Concordia had its first public concert after Melbourne’s long Covid lockdowns. We were delighted to return to the Bass Coast and feature local guitarists Tania Ravbar and Michelle Nelson as soloists.

Baroque with a Twist
On Sunday 29 September 2019, at St Clements of Rome in Bulleen, Concordia explored the Baroque style with a difference. Soloists Will Hardy (recorder), Darryl Barron (mandola) and Michelle Nelson (guitar) featured in pieces by Vivaldi, Handel, Nelson and Menichetti.
