Thank you for the support we received at our recent ‘Star Wars Day’ concert on May the 4th at the Clayton Community Theatre.
What a marvellous concert it was, featuring the Australian premiere performance of our own Michelle Nelson’s composition, Rue de Montmartre, with clarinettist, Christopher Ondaatje wowing us all with his solo performance.
The concert featured the return of young star in the making, soprano Katie Maxwell-Hawkins. Katie sang the award-winning song Once Upon a December from the Disney film Anastasia as well as Enya’s hauntingly beautiful and ethereal ballad, May It Be, which was composed for the film The Lord of the Rings.
A Concordia concert would not be complete without a breathtaking accordion solo by Juliette Maxwell, who played Piazzolla’s Libertango to complete our program.
A great afternoon was had by our audience and our players by all accounts, and we have included a few photos below.
